Use this page to understand what TokMaket does, how to post listings, set up your Weekly Local Digest, and how the approval and messaging process works. The name TokMaket is Tok Pisin-inspired: tok means talk or word, and maket means market.

Register with your name, phone or WhatsApp number, email address, member types and a strong password.

Approved listings have share cards with photo, title, price, location, category and TokMaket branding when you paste the link into Facebook or Messenger.

Logged-in members can use TokMaket messages to ask about listings, Harvest Forecasts, Town Buyers, services, transport, Starlink, Kokoda treks, resort packages, Guest Houses, Restaurants and Last Minute Bookings.

Change requestSafety tips
- Confirm the person, location, item and price before travelling or sending money.
- Use phone or WhatsApp contact details to confirm pickup, delivery or arrival times.
- Meet in a safe place where possible and keep records of messages and payments.
- For transport company schedules, confirm the operator, route, latest timetable, baggage or cargo limits, price, booking process and cancellation rules directly with the company before travelling.
- For airline or regional airline routes, confirm flight availability, weather disruption risk, check-in time, baggage allowance, cargo acceptance and ticket/payment terms with the airline or agent.
- For Kokoda Camp Notices, remember that notices are forecasts only. They are not bookings or campsite reservations.
- For Kokoda Trekking Staff, trekking operators should check experience, suitability, permits, insurance and safety requirements before engaging any person.
- For Guest Houses, confirm room price, facilities, house rules, alcohol rules, arrival time, directions and payment terms before travelling.
- For Restaurants, confirm menu prices, opening hours, delivery area, ordering phone, food availability, map location and payment terms directly with the restaurant.
- For Restaurant Delivery Preapproval, the public request is anonymous, but restaurants that respond will receive enough delivery details to decide whether they can deliver.
- For Last Minute Bookings, confirm availability, booking link, final price, cancellation rules, travel dates and payment terms directly with the provider.
- For Jobs and Staff Available, employers and candidates should check identity, experience, licences, references, pay, accommodation, transport and work conditions before agreeing to employment.
- For Backloads and Empty Space, confirm the operator, route, departure date and time, available seats or cargo kg, loading point, unloading point, payment terms and what happens if the run is delayed or cancelled.
- For Group Buys, confirm who is organizing, target quantity, final price, payment timing, supplier, pickup or delivery plan, and what happens if the target is not reached.
- For Kokoda group treks, confirm the verified operator, trek date, available places, permits, porter support, fitness requirements, insurance, payment terms and cancellation rules before paying.
- For Make Offer messages, confirm what the offer includes, who pays freight, where delivery happens and when payment is due before exchanging money or goods.
- Verified badges are helpful trust signals, but they are not a guarantee of payment, delivery, safety, licence status or availability.
- For Harvest Forecasts, confirm timing, quantity, quality, pickup location and transport before committing money or travel.
- For Town Buyers, confirm buyer identity, buying days, quality requirements, price range, delivery terms and payment process before travelling or sending goods.
- Report suspicious listings, incorrect details or duplicate villages using a change request.
